The Old Cinema- A Sunday Afternoon Spent Mooching Around

We spent this afternoon mooching around The Old Cinema in Chiswick, West London this afternoon. It is a converted cinema which houses a fantastic selection of antique, vintage and upcycled furniture.

I was checking out the painted furniture whilst my partner was coveting everything in the Industrial furniture section.

They also had some amazing original film posters too, including, ‘Cat On A Hot Tin Roof’, ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Apocalypse Now’ and even ‘Deep Throat’!!

Here is a small selection of their painted furniture. Screen shot 2013-04-28 at 18.28.52http://www.theoldcinema.co.uk/Reclaimed-Teakwood-Two-Double-Door-Sideboard

  1. This is a great posting! I am so glad to see the Painted Elm Chest from Gansu Province in China. I recently picked up two oriental chests paired with two tall awesome-looking oriental shelves (Korean pieces) from a craigslist buyer and already had in mind doing them in Barcelona Orange, now I’m thinking about adding Arles to them. Yaaay! I’m inspired. UF
