My alarm went off at 5.00am on Tuesday, and it was very hard to get out of bed, but I knew that if I didn’t I would regret it for the rest of the day. At 6.45am I parked my car in the car park at the Sunbury Antiques Market which is held at Kempton Park Racecourse. Already it felt like I was late!
What an absolute treasure trove and joy to behold. I felt quite anxious at first in case I missed a bargain, but soon relaxed into it and started to find myself completely absorbed. I am doing a piece for a magazine (more of that later)and was looking for something specific, but also I was just looking for inspiration.
Here are the pieces which I bought and have plans for. The silver plate bowls were a complete ‘love’ purchase. When I arrived at home and unpacked them, the whole room smelt of Sandalwood for some reason.
Look out for the reinvented furniture in the next few weeks.
I love the legs on this quirky little table and imagine it in a rich and sophisticated colour.
I am going to paint each of these sweet children’s chairs in a different colour with a central stencil design.
I am working on the styling of my photos for my Etsy shop and am sure these will be used a lot.
Hi Nicolette,
Love the new finds from the market and look forward to seeing the transformations.
May I be a little nosey?
I see you sell your beautiful items on Etsy, how do you arrange delivery/collection of items by your customers?
Do you use a courier or do you only do a buyer collects arrangement?
I am in the process of setting up an Etsy shop and have been looking at DHL. But they seem to be quite expensive.
I like you have some unusually shaped items and quite bulky.
I thank-you for your time.
Hi John Paul,
so sorry I didn’t reply before,I missed your comment.
I don’t use a regular courier service, but usually just google a courier comparison website and then look for the best offer.
Obviously the best option is collection. Sometimes delivery just isn’t feasible. I recently had a query from Brazil. The courier cost was 3 times the price of the furniture.
Good luck with the shop, let me know when it opens
Nicolette

Feel free to come and browse!
