Stencil Story

It’s been a busy week getting everything ready to launch the stencil range on the Etsy shop.  There has also been a bit of a palava with a courier over delivery of the Rajasthan Border Side Table which I have just sold. The person who has bought, it is going to use it as her dressing table. She said she had been looking for something unique for ages and I thought, yes, you are my kind of customer!

My home is becoming something of a guinea pig and I have been experimenting on the bathroom cupboard door with my Rajasthan Border stencil and the Jaipur Stencil, which is a new one. I cut it in the studio yesterday and the knife kept slipping in my hands because it is so hot in London at the moment.  I am going to use it on the front of some notebooks and also onto some simple canvas tote bags as well.

The door was already painted in Farrow and Ball’s Manor House Gray and I stencilled over the top with Annie Sloan’s Old White Chalk Paint.

The door looks great, but I suspect it is not finished yet. It is a bit like those people who become addicted to having tattoos and eventually run out of space to have anymore. I can still see grey space between those motifs crying out for more pattern!

You can purchase the Jaipur and Rajasthan Border Stencils here
