Emile, Paloma and Henrietta

My new stencil designs arrived yesterday. The postman knocked on the door in the evening as I was eating dinner. “You weren’t in when I called earlier” he said, “so I brought them back, save you from having to go to the post office to pick them up!” Little things like that can make a huge difference to your day.

I spent today creating a stencil board to show off both the stencils and some of the lovely Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colours. I have used the combination of Aubusson and Provence frequently in the past, but I discovered the gorgeous combination of Emile and Paloma today, which also happens to look beautiful with Henrietta. Emile, Paloma and Henrietta, they sound like characters in a novel embroiled in a love triangle. I feel like I want to know more about them!

Doing what I did today makes me really happy, I love losing myself in my work and this is just the kind of thing which takes me to another place.

I have so many plans for what I am going to paint with these designs. Tomorrow I am going to create another board using the same stencils in monochrome. Watch this space!
