I have always loved the traditional in-lay furniture produced by amazing craftsmen in Rajasthan in India. The decoration is achieved by in-laying small pieces of either bone or Mother of Pearl. For my latest piece I have taken inspiration from these beautiful pieces of furniture.
I began by painting a coat of Annie Sloan’s Old White, followed by Provence (a new one for me, and such a lovely colour). I sanded everything down before adding the stencil detail in Old White, sanded again and then finished with a couple of coats of clear wax.
I have to admit, I am rather pleased with this one!
