Rajasthani Homage:Part Two

This sweet side table was originally stained a dark walnut colour and looked very dull. I bought it from a shop in Herefordshire when I was visiting my parents. It rattled all the way down the M40 in the boot of my car.

I painted it with a coat of Annie Sloan’s Old White chalk paint followed with a coat of Aubusson. This is a new colour for me, but it’s a really gorgeous, sophisticated colour, especially with a liberal coat of wax over the top. The wax adds a real depth to this colour.

The stencil design was added using Country Grey and then I gave it a very light sanding. I didn’t want too much distressing on this piece.

So here is my second piece of furnitue inspired by the beautiful in-laid furniture from Rajasthan.
